Raquel Rayna Silverman (nee Barish) passed away on October 30th peacefully at her home in Bensalem, PA. Raquel was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Temple University and obtained a master’s degree in Hospital Administration. Raquel dedicated her professional and personal life to helping others. In recent years, she worked as a home health aide caring for seniors. She was devoted to animal welfare and transported rescue dogs to their new homes. She also volunteered at a cat shelter which she was passionate about. Raquel never met a pet she did not like.
Raquel was a selfless and kind person. She had a heart of gold and never turned her back on anyone who needed help. She would be the first person to show up and the last to leave. She was born a fighter and always defied the odds. Raquel was blessed with grace and lived a very full life.
She is survived by her husband, Marc; grandmother, Muriel Snyder; parents, Allan Barish and Renee Galgano; sister, the Honorable Wendi Barish; brother, Lonnie Barish, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and loving friends, along with two of the happiest, well-cared for cats you will ever met.
Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services Thursday, November 3, 11:30 AM precisely, Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael Sacks Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Interment King David Memorial Park. Contributions in her memory can be made to Bingos Foundation Ltd.
