Raelea Charen (nee Cohen), passed away on July 9th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Raelea was born on May 9th, 1937, to the late Max and Shirley Cohen and sister of the late Alan Cohen. Wife of 55 years to Jerome (Jerry) M. Charen. Mother to Lance Charen, Marcia (Rick) Rinaudo, Carolann (Dani) Reiter. Grandmother to Samantha, Stephanie, Adam, Julia, Harry, Noah, and Zev. Great-grandmother to Quint and Jensen.

Raelea graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1955. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Temple University, she taught math at Girard College. Raelea was known for her kindness and commitment to family. Beyond raising her three children she had a variety of activities. She volunteered at her synagogue Adath Jeshurun in Elkins Park. She also worked for the Philadelphia Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) coordinating the Israel Independence Day Parade for many years. Later she owned and operated Spring Art Gallery in Elkins Park. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was thrilled to have two great-grandchildren. Her poise, kindness and devotion will be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Funeral Directors Suburban North, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA on Friday, July 12th, 2024 at precisely 11:30 AM. Contributions in her memory may be made to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
