Dr Phyllis Weisberg on January 12, 2025.
Dr Phyllis Weisberg was born in 1926 in Boston MA. She attended the Girls Latin School, graduating with honors. At 18 years old joined the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps and served at Fort Devens MA from 1944 to 1947. She continued her nursing career as an Emergency Room Nurse in NYC where she achieved promoted to head Emergency Room Nurse.
In addition to her Nursing Degree, Dr Phyllis Weisberg received her BA in Education from Hunter College, her Masters in Special Education from Newark State College and her PHD in Education and Child Development from Yeshiva University. Her career in Special Education spanned over 40 years from NYC, to Education and Special Education in New Jersey, to running the Torah Workshop in New Jersey where she worked with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. She became an Associate Professor at Trenton State College, now the College of New Jersey, becoming full Professor and Chair to the Special Education Department. She retired in the mid 2000s from Trenton State College as a Professor Emeritus.
Dr Phyllis Weisberg, also founded a Private Practice for children, and adults, with special education and learning development needs, providing tutoring, counseling, and advocacy guidance from her home office in Newtown PA.
She was married to Bernard M Weisberg also of Boston MA for 20 years, and then remarried Edward Kaufman of Newark NJ for 2 years.
In addition to MA, NY and NJ, Phyllis resided in Louisville KY, and Jacksonville Florida.
Phyllis is the Mother of a Son, Dori Weisberg of Jacksonville Florida, a Daughter Eva Finlan of South Carolina, Granddaughters Shoshana Baldino of Stratford NJ, and Shana Finlan of Philadelphia PA. She has two great granddaughters, Riley Skrapits of Vero Beach FL, and Elliana Baldino of Stratford NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral services Thursday, January 16, 11:30 AM, Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton PA 18966. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
