Phyllis Lubin Popiel

Phyllis Lubin Popiel, formerly of Rockville Centre, NY and Marlton, NJ, passed away on September 25, 2023. She was born in New York on March 19, 1925 to Arthur and Pauline Lubin, nee Wachtel. While raising three children, Phyllis returned to school and earned a master's in education from New York University. She taught business courses in the West Hempstead school system for 30 years. After retiring, she continued to thrive as a lifelong learner. She found joy in classes at the local JCC, theater and musical performances, and world travel (including visits to China, Turkey, Russia, Alaska, and Israel).

She is survived by son Richard (Lisa), daughter Janet (EJ), grandchildren Julie (Xavier), Paul, Alex, Austen, Jackson, Remy; and great-granddaughter, Jordana. She was predeceased by her husband Charles and son Laurence (Cheryl).

The family thanks the staff at Eagleview Landing and Accelerate Rehab, along with her cherished network of friends. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, NJ.
