Pearl Frank (ne Stein), passed away at the age of 93 on September 13, 2021. The widow of Israel Frank, she was born to Edith (ne Babitch) and Joseph Stein on August 9th, 1928. A lifelong Philadelphian, except for a brief detour to the wilds of Glenside, PA and Riverton, NJ, Pearl was perhaps best known for Yarn and Things, her knitting and needlepoint shop that was a fixture for decades in Northeast Philadelphia. A longtime congregant at Temple Sholom, she was also a lifetime member of Hadassah, served as president of her B'rith Israel Sisterhood, and was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary. When she wasn't teaching the finer points of needlework or helping her family and community, Pearl loved shopping, dancing, and bringing together family and friends at her famous holiday parties. She is survived by her children: Sonia Paxson, Barry Frank (Kathy Anderson) and Eric Frank (Marcia Frank), and her surrogate children Dezy Fredericks, Ted Fries and Lisa Siver; her grandchildren: Jimmy Paxson, Justin Frank, Perry (Rachel) Frank, Charlie Paxson, Niki Anderson, and Danielle Frank; her great-grandchildren: Kiichi Paxson, Maya Paxson, Seana Frank Todd (Derry), Alayna Frank, Malia Frank, and Gia Frank; and her great-great granddaughter Amelia Todd. The funeral service will be held Friday September 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Raphael-Sacks 6410 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126. Interment will take place at Montefiore Cemetery, 600 Church Road, Jenkintown, PA 19046 at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following interment family and friends are invited to the home of Barry Frank and Kathy Anderson, to celebrate the loving life of Pearl. Contributions in Pearl's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
