
SCHWAB, PAUL E. - October 5, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Renee Schwab (nee Stein) and the late Gazella Mittleman Schwab. Devoted father of Lisa Schwab of Philadelphia. Dear friend of Evelyn Brown of Media, PA. Mr. Schwab was a retired engineer. He was a graduate of Atlantic City High School in 1939 and Lehigh University in 1949. From 1942 -1945, Mr. Schwab proudly served in the Army during World War II. He also served in the Armed forces during the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of many Jewish Organizations in the Philadelphia and Atlantic City area including B'nai Brith, the Jewish Chautauqua Society, the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods, and the Jewish Federation of Atlantic County. Mr. Schwab was a longtime volunteer for numerous charitable organizations. He was also a 4th generation member of Reform Cong. Keneseth Israel where he served as President of Brotherhood and on the Board of Trustees and was named Trustee Emeritus in 2005. After retiring to the New Jersey shore he became a member of Cong. Beth Judah and Cong. Beth Israel where he had been confirmed in 1936. He was a lover of opera and classical music. Starting at age 69, Mr. Schwab became an avid bicyclist, for many years completing a number of events including the MS City to Shore Ride, Maloney's Bikeathon, New York's Five Boro Bike Ride, and a bicycle vacation in the South of France. Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services Wednesday 11:30 AM precisely at Cong. Beth Israel, 2501 Shore Road, Northfield, NJ. Int. Beth Kehillah Cemetery, Pleasantville.
