NORMAN HUROWITZ. Age 87, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025. Norman, husband of the late Judy Hurowitz ‘zl, is survived by his children Marc (James) Hurowitz, Bruce (Jodi) Hurowitz and was father to the late Jill (Aaron) Fairchild; grandfather to Alex, Matthew, Emily & Cole. Born to Benjamin and Mitzi Hurowitz in Philadelphia, brother to the late Robert Hurowitz ‘zl, Norman was raised in the Strawberry Mansion / Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. Norman attended Central High School, served in the Army and as a teenager he met his true love and life partner, his wife Judy.
Together they built a life full of joy, laughter, and family. While raising 3 children, Norman embarked on a 50-year career in the Garment Industry working both in Philadelphia and New York. His true passion was family and spent every possible moment with his children and their friends and later grandchildren and even great grandchildren. At an early age, he played baseball as a catcher and was always coaching through his entire life. A highlight was being named the “Best Grandfather Award” for attending everyone of his grandson’s games for all 4 years of high school. He also traveled around the country to see all of his grandchildren’s games whether they be baseball, football or soccer.
For decades at the Plaza in Jenkintown or more recently at Paul’s Run Retirement Community, Norman was a favorite to all. He maintained his independence and met many wonderful people and renewed many long-time friendships. Wherever Norman’s path took him, he touched many lives and will be lovingly remembered by so many.
