Nancy Greenstein

Nancy E Greenstein, 94, of NE Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday October 24,2023. 

A beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. 

Born June 4th,1929 and raised in philadephia, she grew a family and a legacy. Nancy volunteered and fought for the rights of the mentally disabled and handicapped along with raising a disabled child herself. She was the Chairperson of PATH (People Acting To Help) for about 40 years. She was interviewed by Temple Universities Visionary Voices program about her life and her work of changing the system into what it is today. She enjoyed art and music

“One last question for you: how would you like to be remembered?

Nancy: For being Robin's mother, for being and having the joy of Joanne and Arielle, and for trying to make my surroundings a better place, my environment a better place, my world a better place. That's it. Can't ask for anything more than that.” 

She devoted her life to taking care of others. And she will be remembered by the many ways she loved, cared for, and supported everyone. She is survived by her two daughters Robin and JoAnn. Her son in law Richard. Her sister Sylvia. And her granddaughter Arielle. She was predeceased by her husband, Abraham. Her brother William. Her sister in law Sylvia.  And her brother in law, Barry. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday October 29, 2023 at 11:30 AM at GOLDSTEINS’ ROSENBERG’S RAPHAEL-SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH CHAPEL, 310 2^ND Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966.  Shiva will be observed at the home of Sylvia Kaufman.  Contributions in her memory may be made to PATH@1919  www.path1919.org
