Dr. Morris I. Rossman

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Morris Rossman of Holland, PA, beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and respected cardiologist, on November 5, 2024, at the age of 80. Known to his family as “Moish,” he leaves behind a profound legacy of love, laughter, and exceptional care.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 2, 1943, Morris was the son of Martin and Rose Rossman and the brother of Lewis, all of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Jeannie Berlin. After graduating from Central High School, Morris completed his undergraduate studies at Temple University, and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Over the course of his 45-year career, Morris served as the Chairman of Cardiology at Delaware Valley Medical Center (now Jefferson Bucks County Hospital) and was the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in internal medicine, cardiology, and medical training. He was widely admired by his colleagues and patients for his skill, compassion, and commitment to the highest standard of care.

On September 5, 1971, Morris married Genevra “Jean” Furlan, his bride and partner in life for over five decades. Together, they raised five children—Lewis (Lauren), Eileen (Chris) Plummer, Jessica (Todd) Sautter, Jon (Susan), and Meredith (RJ) Hamlin—and are proud of their 10 grandchildren: Zoe, Nolan, Ben, Ella, Adam, Greyson, Laila, Sophia, Brody, and Julian.

Morris was affectionately known as “Grandpa Mo” or simply “Mo” to his adoring grandchildren, all of whom looked forward to his magic tricks, poker games, trivia questions and stock contests. He was known for his generosity, dry (and often surprising) sense of humor and his knack for storytelling. His favorite place to be was on the balcony of 9600 Atlantic in Margate, overlooking the ocean.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton PA 18966. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, www.pcom.edu and the Temple University Libraries (donation details below)

Dr. Morris Rossman’s legacy will live on through his contributions to the field of cardiology, his loving family, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
