MITCHELL JAFFEE It is with a heavy heart that I share this information about the passing of my sister's husband, Michell (Mickey)Jaffee, born 9/14/40- 4/26/25. He was a devoted husband to Rochelle Frances Jaffee formerly (Rochelle Cohen) and father to William and Elliot Jaffee. He is pre-deceased by his parents Faye and George Jaffee. and sister, Dolores Becker. Mitchell grew up in northeast Philadelphia. and attended Northeast high school. After high school joined the Navy and had the chance to see Spain and Italy and other parts of Europe. He was a crew member on the USS WASP aircraft carrier during the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. Mitchell directed the planes on the ship. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he never traveled outside of the United States again. Rochelle and Mitchell would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this May 30th. Billy, the first born had developmental disabilities and Mitchell had a difficult time accepting this. Billy didn't walk until he was 8. Doctors reassured Shellie and Mickey that it was unlikely to have another handicapped child, but that proved to be wrong when Elliot was born 8 years after Billy. Mitchell loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle through the hills of eastern Pennsylvania and the east coast. He was a weightlifter and spent lots of time at the gym. He worked for Buds Machinery, as a welder, a grueling and labor intensive job but he worked there until he retired. Mitchell stood steadfast with his support and love for his boys and his wife. The boys lived with him his death. I will always remember him as a loving and devoted father and husband who will be missed by Rochelle and her sons and all who knew him. A graveside funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 1:00 at King David Cemetery in Philadelphia.
