BALLET WALTERS MIRIAM BETTY (NEE BERMAN) 91, passed away on October 25, 2021. She was predeceased by loving spouses Leo Ballet and John (Jack) H. Walters, Jr. Miriam is survived by son Frederick L. Ballet, M.D. (Michele), Shelley Ballet Sileo (Alan), grandchildren Gabrielle, Jason (Joanna), Lucas (Katie,) and great-grandchildren Samara, Caia, River, and Nora. She is also survived by sister Sandra (Elliot) Milling, a nephew and many nieces who will miss her very much. Born in 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to George and Fanny (Hodax) Berman, Miriam was a descendant of first President of Israel Chaim Weitzman and often joked of being told she had an accident while sitting on his lap when she was 3 years old. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, she married Leo Ballet in 1949, a WWII Air Force Veteran, and remained a devoted partner to him for 28 years, until his passing in 1977. She thrived on helping him grow his auto and insurance businesses, while raising their two children. An avid reader, Miriam also so very much enjoyed entertaining, gourmet cooking, and walks with her dog, Mimi. After her first husband's passing, she moved to Manhattan where she worked as an office manager. She later remarried, and with second husband Jack, moved to Mount Laurel, NJ where they enjoyed their time together travelling and being with family and friends. They later resided at Wesley Enhanced Living, a retirement community, in Media PA. Miriam was very proud of her children and grandchildren, and celebrated their accomplishments. Although a realist at heart, when the going got tough she would still say, 'where there is life, there is hope.' Her family and friends are heartbroken and will miss her terribly, but know her love, determination, and grit will live on. Interment is Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11 A.M. at Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Miriam's memory to the American Lung Association,
