Milton Weinstock

February 24, 1932 — October 13, 2026

Warminster, PA

Milton "Milt" Weinstock, 94, of Warminster, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026. A scientist by training, a sports fanatic by conviction, and a smooth operator on any dance floor, Milt lived a full life centered on family, community, and the occasional heart-stopping fourth quarter.

Milt was born on February 24, 1932, in the Bronx, New York, the only child of the late Meyer and Lillian Weinstock. He graduated from high school in California before returning to New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the City College of New York. He went to work in a laboratory and was living in the Bronx when he met Rosalyn, the woman who would become his wife of 66 years.

Their courtship began with a first date at the China Door, a Chinese restaurant. After that, nearly every date was a ballgame. Roz, who knew nothing about sports when they met, was offered a clear choice: Milt could teach her football, or she could go shopping. She chose football, and a lifelong fan was born. The couple married on August 20, 1960, spent a year in the Bronx, and then moved to Rego Park, Queens, where they began raising their family. Around 1975, they moved to East Windsor, New Jersey.

Also in 1960, Milt began a long career with the New York City Board of Education as a science lab specialist, supporting the science programs in the city's public schools. He served in that role until retiring at age 62, just as his granddaughter Samantha turned one.

Milt's devotion to New York sports was the stuff of family legend. He was a lifelong fan of the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and Rangers. Giants Sundays in the Weinstock household were an event. When a game got too tense to watch with everyone else, Milt retreated upstairs, turned the television's volume off, and listened to the Giants radio announcers instead. Nobody downstairs ever had to ask whether something good had happened, because they could hear him cheering through the ceiling. At least one friend who knocked on the door mid-game politely suggested they all go for a walk instead.

Music was his other great love. Milt enjoyed Neil Diamond, Motown, and John Legend, and he rarely sat out a song if he could help it. At weddings, bar mitzvahs, and bat mitzvahs, he could reliably be found on the dance floor, where he had genuine rhythm and, as his family remembers, was downright suave. One of his cherished moments was dancing with his granddaughter Samantha at her wedding. Milt and Roz also renewed their vows on a cruise to Hawaii.

Not only a dancer he was your least likely comedian. One liners, humorous trivia (super random at times) and jokes would be the daily routine. A day without a smile was a day without sunshine.

And this was his way of approaching life and impacting others. Anyone who came in contact would with Milt would quickly say, “He is the kindest, gentlest sole, what a great guy!!” And that was Milt.

In retirement in Manchester, New Jersey, Milt stayed active in community life. He was a member of the Bronx Club and the Men's Club, and he served on the executive board of Temple Beth Or.

As his health declined over his final years, Milt was cared for at home. Three of his caregivers, Amelie, Beatrice and Ive, became especially close to him and to the whole family. Their warmth, patience, and genuine affection brought Milt comfort and good company, and the family is deeply grateful to each of them.

Milt is survived by his beloved wife, Rosalyn "Roz" Weinstock; his daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Phil Cooper and Cheryl and Scott Elian; and his granddaughter, Samantha and Wayne Messer and grandson Andrew Cooper and fiancee Sierra Meredith.
