Michael Hartman

August 11, 1953 — April 9, 2026

Michael Hartman, 72, of Paul’s Run, died peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with myotonic dystrophy. He had lived at Paul’s Run for the past year. He is predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Harold Hartman and brother Neal Hartman.

Born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia, Michael was the eldest of three and a 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School. He attended the Community College of Philadelphia. Michael spent his career in the billing department at Bell Telephone winning multiple awards for customer service. He retired after several decades of dedicated service. A lifelong Phillies fan, he also worked part time for Comcast Spectacor - staffing Phillies games, concerts and events throughout the South Philadelphia Sports Complex from Veterans Stadium to Citizens Bank Park.

Michael shared a multi-generational home for many years with his parents, his brother Neal, and his Uncle Irv. He was very close to his younger brother Neal, whose death from cancer left a lasting mark on him. Quiet and private by nature, Michael had a dry, sarcastic sense of humor and valued close family and longtime friends—some of whom he preferred to keep to himself.

He is survived by his sister Debbie Share (Michael Share); nephew Steven Share (Todd Hacker); niece Julie Wisniewski (Tim Wisniewski); great-nephew Lennon Wisniewski; great-niece Abbey Wisniewski; and sister-in-law Susan Hartman, wife of the late Neal Hartman Z”l.

A graveside service will be held at Shalom Memorial Park, 3573 Pine Road, Huntingdon Valley on Monday, April 13 at 11:00 am. The family appreciates the care provided by the staff at Paul’s Run. Donations in Michael’s memory may be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation, give.myotonic.org .
