Menee Gomborow Spangenberg
Menee Gomborow (Segal) Spangenberg passed away on January 9, 2013. She was a graduate of Philadelphia High School for Girls, Philadelphia Normal School, and Temple University. Menee was a teacher of English at the Clara Barton School for 21 years; Director of Teacher Training for Hebrew Sunday School Society five years; President five times of Drizen-Weiss Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish War Veterans Post 215 (50-year member); Hospital Chairman 15 years; President of JWVA Council; President for nine years of Congregation Mikveh Israel Womens Group; Honorary member of Board of Directors of Mikveh Israel. She also volunteered at the Museum of American Jewish History and Friends Hospital. Survivors: She was (widow of Harold); mother of Judith M. Spangenberg and David J. Spangenberg; grandmother of Alex C.S. Rosenblatt and Jonathan and Gabrielle Spangenberg, respectively. Sister of Albert (the late Mildred), Hirsh Sholom (Ruth) and Daniel Segal (the late Freda), and numerous nieces and nephews. Services: Funeral services, Friday, 11 a.m., Goldsteins Rosenbergs Raphael-Sacks, 6410 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126. Burial will follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
