Mendorha G. (Dori) Sider

Mendorha Welcome Gomborow Sider (Dori) lived 1927-2026. Beautiful Dori loved her Family: the beloved Daughter of Jacob and Mae Gomborow; Wife of Sidney Sider; Mother of Marlene, Adele, Jack, and Harriet; Grandmother of Ryan, Andrew, Silas, Marlowe, and Blythe; Aunt of Brian, Scott, Dale, and Glen; and loyal Friend. Dori loved her Community: past President of the Greater Bustleton Civic League, past local President of Jewish Women International, and ardent Democratic party supporter, Dori worked for community safety and against the trafficking of women. A life-long learner, Dori earned her Master’s at Villanova at age 62, so she could continue to help others discover the joy of reading and the excitement of learning as a Librarian and Teacher with the School District of Philadelphia. Dori loved to sing and dance, play Mah Jong and Casino, and to travel the world. Dori was a wonderful swimmer who could be found doing laps, almost until the day of her passing. Asked what she was most proud of, besides her Family: Dori said she had learned to stand up for herself and to advocate for others.

Friends and Family are invited to Dori’s Celebration of Life: Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 11 am at Rydal Park, 1515 The Fairway, Jenkintown. Donations in Dori’s memory may be made to Planned Parenthood or to your local school library.
