Maxine Newstein

MAXINE NEWSTEIN (nee Fein), May 13, 2017. Wife of the late Henry; Mother of Joyce (James) Thompson, Laurie (Erik) Ruppe, and Rick (Sandy) Newstein; Grandmother of Amy (Mike), Colin, and Andrew; Great-grandmother of Michael, Lila, and Trey. Over the last 65 years, Maxine has been active in numerous clubs and organizations, including the Women’s Club of Upper Merion, the 59ers of St. Matthews, Hadassah, and the Upper Merion Senior Center. She had been a long-time volunteer in the local Meals on Wheels organization. Over the past years, she had also been an active member of the Women’s League at her synagogue, Tiferet Bet Israel, now in Blue Bell, PA. Before her retirement, she worked for many years as a treasurer for Philadelphia Life Insurance mutual funds. She always enjoyed playing various card and board games with her friends. One of her favorite things to do was spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all. Services and interment are private.
