Mary Ticker (nee Kashifker), 98, of Meadowbrook, PA, and formerly of Northeast Philadelphia and West Oak Lane, passed away on January 11 with her sons, daughter-in-law and her two grandchildren at her bedside. Wife of the late Samuel and pre-deceased by longtime companion Max Greenberg. Mother of Lee (Elaine) and Bruce. Grandmother of Carolyn and Carlos. Aunt of the late Barry Sax (the late Lynn), Steve Sax (the late Helen), Norma Sax (Dick) and Cheryl Roberts (the late Chuck), brothers Neil (Jan) and Gary (Denny) and siblings Randi nee Hart (Steve) and the late Ronnie Hart. She was also the human of her late pet dog Princess and grand human of Carolyn’s pet dog Ben. She is survived by many other friends and relatives. A longtime employee of the Philadelphia City Solicitor’s office, where Ed Rendell spoke at her retirement luncheon. She sang in a glee club and served as First Lady of her Friends Club which elected Sam as president. With Mary as the power behind the throne, Sam was re-elected every time and was never impeached – since nobody else wanted the job. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral services will be at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Raphael Sacks on Thursday, January 18 at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park
