CLAVNER
MARY CLAVNER (Cohen), 97, of Blue Bell, PA., died Friday, January 24, 2013 at Abington Hospice in Warminster, PA. Mary has joined her one and only true love and dancing partner, her late husband Edward, who has waited 47 years for her.
"To these whom death again did wed, This grave's their second marriage bed.
For though the hand of fate could force
Twixt soul and body a divorce, It could not sunder man and wife, 'Muse they both lived but one did lie.
Peace, good reader, Do not weep. Peace, the lovers are asleep."
Mary is predeceased by her brothers Harry and Jack Cagan, and sister Fay Woodland. She is survived by adoring children Gail Bonnie Vandenberg (loving son-in-law Thomas), and Jeffrey Clavner (Lorraine). Mary was a very special Grandmother to Pamela Harbin (Kerry), Edward Vandenberg (Chinami Inaishi), and Erik Clavner (Rachel). Also survived by Great-Grandchildren Ayden, Amari, Theo, Uma, Noelle and Paul, and several nieces and nephews. The pride and pleasure of Mary's life was always her family. Widowed at the young age of 49, she carried on with grace and dignity. Mary was a true "fashionista." She was a very classy lady, always impeccably dressed, with size 4 high heels and handbag to match. Mary's love of beautiful clothes propelled her into the fashion business. She was the owner of Mary Clavner's Dress Shop on Krewstown Road in Philadelphia for many years. Although less than 5 ft. tall, she was a bundle of energy and was active into her 90's.
Graveside Funeral Services will be private. Shiva will be observed at the home of Tom and Bonnie Vandenberg on Monday and Tuesday evening from 5:00 10:00 P.M. Family and friends are invited to come and share their memories of Mary.
