Marvin Lee Kreithen

November 2, 1935 — February 17, 2026

Marvin Lee Kreithen, a beloved son, husband, father, Zayda and loyal friend passed away surrounded by loved ones at Abington Memorial Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia PA to Rose and Jack Kreithen, courageous immigrants from the shtetls of Ukraine. Marvin lived a blessed life, circled with a strength for family, love, kindness, engineering, art, Judaism, philosophy, travel and adventure, along with his wife of 58 years, Leslie Bondel Kreithen and loving family.

With a natural aptitude for education, Marvin went to Clara Barton Elementary School where he received the American Legion award for being its top student, then on to Philadelphia’s Central High School, 200th Class, graduating in 1952. He graduated with a BSME engineering degree in 1958 from Drexel University.

Professionally, Marvin was a pioneer in the development of computerized control systems within the machine tool industry. He was the architect of Bridgeport Machine’s processor based Numerically Controlled Systems. He designed and developed system logic and wrote operating software. He held six patents for controller related concepts. After 35 years at Bridgeport Machines, he became vice president and general manager of Bridgeport’s computerized manufacturing operation.

In 1970 and 1974 Marvin and Leslie welcomed Joshua, married to Missy Kreithen and then Rebecca Kreithen, now Rebecca Peake married to John S. Peake III. He is the proud Zayda of Skylar and Ginger Kreithen and Anna and Jonah Peake. His loving siblings are Paul Kreithen [deceased], Linda Richter married to Dr. Melvyn Richter and Arlene Diane Spector. Marvin cherished family above all else.

Marvin and Leslie travelled the world, visiting art museums, hiking and enjoying the wonders of the world. When he retired, Marvin continued developing his deep interest in Judaism, writing Adult Education presentations on Jewish artists, philosophers and history which he presented at Ohev Shalom, Keneseth Israel, the Unstructured Havurah, and Ann’s Choice.

Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Friday, February 20, 1:30 PM at Goldsteins' Roseberg's Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton PA 18966. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Please join us for Shiva after the burial at Ann’s Choice, Keystone Building, Cedar Room at 4:30 PM, 30000 Ann’s Choice Way, Warminster PA 18974. A special and caring man, Marvin made the world a better place, and we will miss him very much. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the Anti-Defamation League.
