Marvin Mark Copman

A beloved husband, father, and father-in-law

Passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 87

Marvin Copman was a man of quiet strength, sharp wit, and deep devotion to his family. A gifted mechanical engineer, he approached every challenge, big or small, with precision, patience, and curiosity. Whether fixing something around the house or studying Consumer Reports like a textbook, Marvin could always be counted on to know the best solution.

He had a passion for fitness before it was trendy, lifting weights and running for decades, even once competing in a bodybuilding competition as a young man. But behind the discipline was a soft spot for life’s simple pleasures: jazz music (especially Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five”), Arby’s sandwiches, a good article, and an ever-present stash of chocolate in his basement “man cave.”

Though quiet and reserved, those closest to Marvin knew his dry sense of humor, his famous expressions (including his classic “Jesus Christ!”—surprising from a Jewish man), and his love for making people laugh in subtle, unexpected ways. He never said much, but when he did, it mattered.

He had a special bond with his daughter, Jennifer, he adored his wife, Harriet, and his son-in-law, Nico, whose presence brought him so much joy and pride.

Marvin is survived by Harriet, his loving wife of 58 years; his devoted daughter, Jennifer; and his cherished son-in-law, Nico. He was laid to rest in a private ceremony at Har Zion Cemetery.

His family invites those who knew him to honor his memory in their own way, with a quiet moment, a jazz tune, a piece of chocolate, or a smile at one of his many unforgettable one-liners.

Marvin’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the values he instilled, and the laughter he left behind. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, always.
