Martin "Marv" Serota, 92, of Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Benjamin and Minnie Serota, preceded in death by his brother Harold, and loving husband of Alice, passed away on October 31, 2020 surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife Alice of 44 years, sister Miriam (Mimi) DeBevoise, along with children, Sheri Frankel, Fern Karp (Jerry), Robin Morello (Rodney), Ellen Ghiloni, Scott Lacoff, Stuart Lacoff (Victoria), and Terri Lacoff; Pop-pop/ Poppy to Katelyn (Kevin), Jesse, Ashley (Todd), Chelsea (Garth), Rachel (Toribio), Gregory, Jared and three great grandchildren, Josefina, Ruby and Charlize.
Marv served in the Army during the Korean War as a cook. After his discharge, being an entrepreneur, he first opened a hair salon, followed by a restaurant and then later became a photographer until his retirement. He was creative in refurbishing furniture and was an all-around handyman. Marv loved spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 10:00 AM, Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Raphael Sacks Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton PA 18966. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the National Kidney Foundation serving Eastern PA and New Jersey.
