
88 years old, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2018 in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Beloved husband of Etta (nee Leftwich) Lev, father of Jodi Swartz (partner Benjamin Greenberg), Yvonne (Robert) Fisher, Heidi (Fred) Stedner and Tamie (James) Palatine. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 nieces and nephews. Marty attended Central High School in Philadelphia and Temple University. Marty was a pioneer in the General Merchandise and Healthcare Divisions of Supermarkets. He started his career at Sun Ray Drugs of Philadelphia, working his way from Director at Shop Rite Supermarkets to Vice President of Loblaws Supermarkets of Toronto, Canada. Marty's expertise brought him back to the United States as Vice President of Edwards, First National and Stop and Shop Supermarkets. He spent many years mentoring young professionals in his chosen industry. He spent the last 14 years working for Key Foods of New York.
Marty spent many years traveling the globe with his wife Etta. He dedicated his time to the Jewish War Veterans and Temple Beth Ami of Philadelphia and Temple Beth Israel of Scotch Plains, NJ. After his retirement he dedicated many hours to the Jackson Food Pantry and the Jackson Public Library. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 11:15 AM precisely at Goldsteins', Rosenberg's, Raphael-Sacks Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA. Interment Roosevelt Memorial Park, Trevose, PA. Shiva will be observed Wednesday 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM at the home of Tamie and James Palatine; Thursday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM and also Friday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at his late residence and Sunday 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM at the home of Jodi Swartz and Benjamin Greenberg.
