Marsha A. Schwartz

Marsha Arlene Schwartz (née Goodman), aged 80, of Warminster, PA, born July 12, 1944, passed away on July 26, 2024.

She lived a life marked by dedication to her family and friends. She raised her family in Northeast Philadelphia, moving into a new neighborhood in the 1960’s filled with young couples and children who coined themselves the Bergen Street Troopers. This group of close-knit friends and their children became an extended family that led to friendships lasting 50+ years.

Marsha graduated from Northeast High School in 1962 and later earned a degree in Interior Design. Marsha was part of the working women movement of the 1970’s. Known as a smart, hard-working, caring, confident and always stylish businesswoman who stood toe-to-toe with her male counterparts of the time. Throughout her career, she held office manager and executive assistant positions including at Beth Emeth Synagogue in Northeast Philadelphia and managing many of the day to day operations of Gemini Industrial baking equipment company.

Her love for helping others culminated in opening her own Temp Service franchise in the 1990s, which was her favorite and most fulfilling career opportunity of her life, where she was fully supported by her loving husband and family. Later in life, she worked as an Executive Assistant at Jules Pilch Men’s Clothing store in Hatboro, PA catering to male business professionals who always respected her sense of style and appreciated her honest opinions with a loving touch. Marsha completed her working career with the Medical Mission Sisters where she managed millions of dollars of assets for the Catholic Church and its Nuns to offer medical assistance to those in need around the world.

Marsha was deeply loved and will be missed by her husband and best friend of 62 years, Kenneth Schwartz. They met on the beach in Atlantic City when Ken was a beach cabana guy. Marsha and her family were one of his customers in the summer of 1960. After 2 years of courtship, Marsha’s Dad would still not allow her to be married until she was at least 18 years old, so she went ahead and planned her wedding for the first Saturday after her 18th birthday. This was an example of her tenacity and confidence in knowing what she wanted at a young age and making it happen for herself.

Together Marsha and Ken traveled throughout the US and the World with their closest friends, their children and in later years on their own, visiting multiple US states, London, Paris, Egypt, Greece, Israeli, Turkey, Alaska, etc. but Jamacia (8x) and Barcelona, Italy were where she felt most connected.

She is predeceased by her parents Harry and Rae Goodman and survived by her loving husband Kenneth, her best friend and loving sister, Beverly Kirson, her children, Allen Schwartz (Richelle), Larry Schwartz (Angela Balduzzi) and Bradley Schwartz (Julie); grandchildren, Remi Birbrayer, (Vladimir), Preston Schwartz, Brendon Schwartz and great-grandchild, Sebastian Birbrayer.

Family and loved ones are invited to Graveside Services, Tuesday, 11 AM precisely at Roosevelt Memorial Park (Sec. U), Trevose, PA. Shiva will be observed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the home of Richelle and Allen Schwartz.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Medical Mission Sisters continuing Marsha's legacy of generosity for others and community support. (https://www.medicalmissionsisters.org/how-to-help/donate.html)
