With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marion Gittis, a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, caring sister, and cherished friend, who left us on February 10, 2026 at the age of 87. Born in West Oak Lane, PA, to William and Helen (Hess) Freiman. She graduated from Olney High School and went on to build a life centered on family, friendship, and love.
Marion was the heart of her family. She had a special gift for bringing everyone together, around the kitchen table, especially at Thanksgiving. She loved playing cards and mahjong and rarely missed a chance to watch her favorite teams. A self-proclaimed Dallas Cowboys fan, those closest to her knew the truth: deep down, she still bled green for the Eagles.
Family vacations were especially important to her. She treasured time spent traveling, gathering everyone in one place, and creating memories that would be talked about for years. Whether it was a big trip or a simple getaway, what mattered most to her was being together.
Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than cheering them on, sharing stories, and spoiling them with love. She celebrated every milestone and made each grandchild feel uniquely special.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, her steady support, and the way she made everyone feel at home. Her love was constant, generous, and unconditional.
Marion is survived by her children, Steven Rose, Beth Rose, Aimee Stratton (Chris), Robert Gittis (Marci), Steven Gittis (Rhonda); her grandchildren Michael Stratton, Alek Gittis, Samuel Gittis, Natalie Gittis, Mei Lee Kwok, Phoebe Gittis, Ryan Stratton, Hannah Rose, Aidan Stratton, Benjamin Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and daughter, Mindi Gittis (Kwok)
There will be no formal services. Instead, the Rose/Gittis family ask that family and friends come together this spring to celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Date to be determined.
She will be forever missed, forever remembered, and forever loved.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.
