Our beloved Marc- husband, father, Zayda ~ died at age 82 on Thursday, August 13th, 2020. He lived his life for his family, and anyone who met him loved him.
He had a passion for airplanes and boats. He was happiest sailing on his catamaran with the blue water laid out before him, with his wife by his side, under unfurled sails and the fresh air blowing across the bow.
His wife, children, and grandchildren adore him. Dad is the one we called when important questions needed answers� like "how do I remodel my kitchen," or "may I marry your daughter with your blessing," or "Zayda will you come skiing with me?"
He was a success! He was an entrepreneur and his legacy continues to support many families. He was an extraordinary leader. Any time one of his employees were in need he was personally involved with helping them. In his passing, he teaches us the true meaning of love and selflessness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Zahava Gershel, his daughter Gwen Gershel-Halfpenny and John Halfpenny, Jr. and their children Samuel, John, Daniel, and Rebecca, and his son Ross A. Gershel and his wife, Kristin Nielsen and their son Richard.
Bubby G.G., Aunt Shelley, and his father Reuben will be meeting him with a root beer float and a Reuben Special. Shep, Rodney, Bailey, Dusty, and his many other fur babies will greet him with wagging tails. Always in our hearts, we'll miss you forever.
