Lois Irene Wolk
Formerly Lois Irene Maniloff
Born in Philadelphia, PA
Passed away peacefully on Monday morning, September 22, 2025
Lois Irene Wolk, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, surrounded by family. Born to Tillie and Morris Maniloff on August 10, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the beloved mother of Marnie Wolk (Gary Kaufman) and Adam Wolk. She was a sister to Maxine Schultz who preceded her in passing, as well as Frances Mazer (Harry Mazer). She was adored by her grandchildren, Allison and Carrie Kaufman. Lois was a lifelong lover of the arts, animals, and sunflowers, all of which filled her life and home with beauty, warmth, and meaning.
A proud graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Lois pursued her passion for fine art with remarkable talent and dedication. She worked in a variety of mediums, including oil painting, sculpting, pastels, and sketching. Her home became a vibrant gallery covering nearly every wall, door, stairwell, and even the bathroom showcased her artwork. Her artistic spirit was unmistakable and ever-present.
Lois also became a business owner, running an answering service, a venture that sparked a love of telephones. Over time, she began collecting vintage phones, many of which remain on display throughout her home.
Her deep love for animals led her to play an instrumental role in helping her daughter start an animal rescue organization over 25 years ago. She helped incorporate the group and supported it wholeheartedly. Lois generously opened her home to foster countless cats and dogs over the years, some of whom became her own beloved pets.
Her favorite flower, the sunflower, reflected her radiant personality: strong, bright, and always reaching for the light. Sunflower-themed décor could be found throughout her home, a testament to the joy and positivity she brought to everyone around her.
Lois will be remembered for her wisdom, generosity, and unwavering love. Her kindness touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service to celebrate Lois’s life will be held on Friday, September 26th at 3:30 PM at Goldsteins’ Rosenbergs Funeral Directors,310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966.
