Born on January 28, 1936, in Moscow, Russia, Liya was the daughter of Moses Lipovich and Sarah Magina. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother David Lipovich, and her beloved husband, Renald Sliozberg, with whom she shared over 65 years of marriage.

Liya's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and intellectual prowess. She pursued her education with dedication, graduating from the All-Union Correspondence Institute of Food Industry and obtaining a PhD in Wine Science. Her career as a research scientist spanned 40 remarkable years at the National Scientific Research Institute of Vine and Winemaking, where she led the analytical chemistry laboratory. Liya was a pioneer in her field, authoring numerous scientific manuscripts and securing technological inventions and patents that significantly advanced winemaking technology.

Beyond her professional achievements, Liya was a woman of diverse interests and passions. She found joy in flower gardening and was an avid reader with a deep love for poetry. Her greatest delight, however, was spending time with her children, Alla and Yelena, and her cherished grandchildren: Elizaveta, Leonid, Asya and Sarah. She was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Nino, who brought her immense happiness.

A celebration of Liya's life will be held on August 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM at King David Memorial Park, located at 3594 Bristol Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in memory of Liya's generous spirit and love for children.
