LEON LEVY, 96, died of complications from Alzheimer's on January 24, 2011 in Silver Spring, MD. Dr. Levy was born on November 2, 1914 in Wilmington DE and was married Alma Eisenhandler on April 6, 1941. He practiced dentistry in Wilmington from 1946 through 1996 and served as President of the Delaware State Dental Society in 1960. Dr. Levy was a member of the Washington Lodge #1 Masons, a Life Member of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine at Nur Temple, and a Board Member of the Jewish Federation of Delaware. Dr. Levy is survived by his wife, Alma (nee Eisenhandler); his two sons, Dr. Arnold (Maureen) Levy, and Dr. Michael (Phyllis) Levy; his grandchildren, Adrienne (Bryan) Malickson, Rob Levy, Meryl (Byron) Cross, and Lauren Levy, and by his great-grandson, Ari Malickson. Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Schoenberg Memorial Chapel in Wilmington. Interment will take place at Beth Emeth Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at 1306 Veale Road, where Shiva will be held 6 P.M. Shiva will be held at 7:30 P.M. on January 26th and 27th at the home of Michael and Phyllis Levy in Voorhees NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 800-272-3900. (www.alz.org).
