Len Holtz, born on October 7, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026. He dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to the Department of Defense, where he was known for his unwavering commitment and integrity.
A proud veteran, Len served in the Navy, carrying the values instilled in him throughout his life. He pursued his education with a degree from Temple University, which laid the foundation for his career and intellectual pursuits.
Len was a quiet thinker, often referred to as "the silent genius" by those who knew him. His dry sense of humor and unique perspective on life allowed him to march to the beat of his own drum. He was a man of immense knowledge across a variety of subjects, yet he remained humble in his wisdom.
His greatest joy came from the time spent with his son, Danny. Together, they shared countless moments of happiness, often bonding over their mutual love for football, especially the Eagles.
Len was also an aficionado of westerns and military shows, spending many hours enjoying these genres on television. Music filled his life, with Buddy Holly being a particular favorite.
Len had a special affinity for dogs, never failing to shower love on every furry friend he encountered. His genuine kindness and compassion were evident to all, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Len is survived by his beloved son, Dan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sol and Eva Holtz, who undoubtedly shaped the man he became.
As we reflect on the life of Len Holtz, we remember the quiet genius whose legacy will continue through the cherished memories of his family and friends.
