Our beautiful daughter, sister, and aunt, Lauren Lacey Jelleyman, 33, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Lauren was born on June 4, 1992, to Doris Jelleyman (Lewis) of Rome, Georgia, and Christopher L. Jelleyman of Levittown, Pennsylvania. She was a beloved sister, deeply connected to her family and those closet to her.
A lifelong Philadelphian, Lauren truly loved her city. She carried that pride with her throughout her life and found joy in the people, energy, and character that made it home. She had deep love for animals, especially cats, and her compassion extended naturally to all living things. She was known for her generosity and would help anyone in need without hesitation.
As a young girl, she was heavily involved in karate, where she excelled with focus and determination. She was also an avid soccer and basketball player throughout middle and high school, demonstrating remarkable skill and strong team spirit.
The love of her family was at the center of Lauren's heart, but it was her nieces and nephews who brought her the greatest joy. She adored and spoiled each of them endlessly. Her love and loyalty knew no bounds. Fiercely protective of those she cared for, Lauren would stand by her loved ones with every fiber of her being. She also cherished her friends-every one of them-holding each relationship close and valuing the people in her life above all else.
Lauren was blessed to have three strong men in her life to guide her in their roles of father/dad. She was predeceased by Elliott P. Berger of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and survived by Christopher L. Jelleyman of Levittown, Pennsylvania, and William Lewis of Rome, Georgia.
Lauren is also survived by her mother, Doris Jelleyman (Lewis) of Rome, Georgia; her sister, Kristen L. Jelleyman, and brother in law, Pete Sourovelis, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her brother, Christopher T. Jelleyman of Philadelphia, her three nephews, M.S., J.S., and C.S., and two nieces, V.S. and M.S., all of Philadelphia and surrounding areas of Pennsylvania.
In addition, Lauren is lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and devotion.
Private services, will be held for immediate family on Monday, December 15, with cremation to follow. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
That Lauren's private viewing falls on the first evening of Hanukkah---a season of light----feels especially fitting. A gentle reminder that even in moments of loss, light continues to shine. With that in mind, Lauren would not want her family or friends to be overcome with sadness, but rather to keep that light alive by sharing her memory, her love and her kindness with the world. In this way, though her flame here on earth has been extinguished Lauren's light will forever burn brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
