Kathy Smith, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully at home on August 6th, 2025, exactly where she wished to be, surrounded by love, memories, and the comfort of her own space.
Kathy leaves behind her beloved husband of 37 years, Mark Smith, and their three children, Margot, Rory, and Eden, her greatest joy, her main purpose, and the loves of her life. Being a mother was the role she cherished most, and her love for her family was the steady heart of her world. We also cannot forget her precious fur baby, Solomon, “Solly,” who she loved just as much as her own children.
To know Kathy was to feel welcomed, seen, and loved. She had a gift for making people feel at home whether you were a lifelong friend or a stranger passing through. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart even fuller. A natural hostess and an extraordinary cook, she was often the life of the party and the chef behind the scenes. Her famous latkes, crisp and golden straight from the stove, were a thing of legend and you knew you were lucky if you got one before they disappeared.
Kathy had a laugh that filled the room and a smile that warmed even the hardest days. Her sense of humor was sharp, her kindness boundless, and her generosity unmatched. She volunteered her time freely, helped without hesitation, and made it her mission to lift up those around her.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing Kathy lived a life full of love, laughter, and meaning. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched including her family, her friends, and the community she so deeply cared for.
She will be remembered always, missed deeply, and loved forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Graveside Services on Thursday, August 14 at 2:30 PM at Roosevelt Memorial Park (Section S), 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA 19053
