(1955-2022) Beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to anyone who met her, Kathi Lois Buckman passed away peacefully Sunday Aug 28, surrounded by her family. Kathi was a lifelong resident of northeast Philadelphia having spent several years living in the Abington, Kensington and Bustleton neighborhoods with her formative summers in Margate NJ. Diagnosed with meningitis as an infant, left Kathi’s mobility limited to wheelchairs and walkers. Kathi never let her physical limitations prevent her from enjoying her favorite activities: playing card and tile games, dancing to disco music, following General Hospital, getting treats on the Ocean City boardwalk, working as a greeter at a movie theater and a clothing store, cross stitching pillows and attending tons of dinners, events and socializing with her beloved friends from The Crusaders, The Ronald Bruce Nipon Organization, The Rolling Rebels, and UCP Recreation. Always in her blue eye shadow and sparkly sweaters, Kathi collected friends wherever she went and never let any forget that she was capable enough to do anything she pleased. Kathi is survived by her niece Laurie Buckman (Joseph) and nephew David Buckman (Rachel), her sister-in-law Carol Buckman, her long-term boyfriend, Tom Graziani, as well as her most special friends, Felice Orlansky and William Curran. She is preceded in death by her parents Leona (Silverman) and Morris Buckman, her brother Paul Buckman and longtime best friend Raymond Hanlon. Kathi was born on Thanksgiving eve in 1955 and never stopped giving us reasons to be thankful. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services, Friday, 1:30 PM precisely at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks Suburban North Chapel, 310 2nd St. Pike, Southampton, PA. Int. Montefiore Cem. Contributions in her memory may be made to Handicapped Crusaders of Bucks Co., C/O Faith Reformed Church, 479 Stonybrook Dr., Levittown, PA 19055, handicappedcrusaders.org or a charity of the donor’s choice.
