Judith Arlene Erlick (nee Marcus) age 74, of Boyton Beach, Florida and formerly of Meadowbrook and Philadelphia, PA passed away on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024 after a valiant and courageous 14 year battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia. Judi was an amazing woman who was extremely devoted to her family and to her career, teaching Special Education in Philadelphia for 35 years. She had a passion for reading, travel and swimming.
Judi was the beloved wife of Dennis for 52 years and was born in Philadelphia on May 2, 1950. Dennis first met Judi in kindergarten at Moore School in Philadelphia, and 17 years later would reconnect at college for a lifetime of love and devotion. Judi was the loving mother of David Adam and Debra Michelle, grandmother of cherished grandson Oliver Felix, and granddaughter Rowan Emily. She was the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Marcus, sister of Elaine Grech, sister-in-law to Joaquin Grech, Aunt Judi to Daniel and Suzie Grech and Great Aunt to Iris and Henry Grech.
Judi loved traveling, especially to France and spent her junior year of college studying at the Sorbonne in Paris. After graduating from Temple University in 1971, she went to graduate school majoring in Special Education. She taught in the School District of Philadelphia for 35 years, spending the last 17 years of her career at Washington High School where she established interactive programs for her special needs students. She is most remembered for her GW Cookie Company where students prepared, baked and sold delicious chocolate chip cookies that supported her innovative programs.
Judi realized her dream of retirement to a new home in Florida in 2007 and was able to travel the world with her husband, and although declining in her mental acuity realized another dream of sharing her beloved Paris, Giverny and Loire Valley chateaus with her children.
Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services on Friday June 14, 2024, at Montefiore Cemetery (Isaac Mauseoleum), at 11:00 AM precisely. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
