Joyce Marcia Zeitz

Joyce Zeitz, 80, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, after a long illness. Born on October 28, 1945, Joyce spent her early years in West Philadelphia before later making her home in Northeast Philadelphia.

Joyce was the beloved daughter of the late Eleanor Rubin, loving sister of Bonnie Abrams, devoted wife of 40 years to the late Steven Zeitz, and a selfless, loving mother to Amy (Rob), Missy (Lee), and Todd (Janel).

She was a proud grandmother to Andrew (Sarah), Alyssa (Marklin), Samantha, Steven, and Danny, who were her greatest joys.

Joyce dedicated much of her life to teaching fitness and exercise. She was also an avid dancer. Despite facing a life changing physical condition with partial paralysis in her 40s, it inspired her to make a career of helping people others with physical limitations & seniors improve their quality of life. She cherished several lifelong friendships, and many dear friends continued to visit her regularly until the end. She traveled all over the world to more places than you can count, including many memorable trips with her dear friend Marshall. Joyce overcame many obstacles with remarkable strength, always putting others before herself. Her kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family and friends will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, on Sunday, July 12, at 1:00 p.m., interment to follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joyce’s memory to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, supporting individuals living with paralysis and spinal cord injuries.
