Joseph H., age 73, passed away February 6, 2025. Beloved husband of Cass (nee Vanderslice). Loving father of Jesse Weber and Tess Weber. Dear brother of Patricia Geltman (Steve) and Ina Davis (Rick). Devoted son of Gertrude Weber and the late Fred Weber. Adored uncle of Matt (Marc), Dave, Brett, Lilli (Andrew), Izzi, Kristin, Brianne, Kathleen (Tom), Tim (Ally), Ted, Dan (Vanessa), and Patrick (Michelle).
Some believe the world began with a Big Bang, but we like to believe it began on January 9, 1952. Starting his journey in Overbrook Park, Joe cemented his love for Philadelphia and sealed lifetime friendships. Later, he took his talents to Havertown, PA. where his “Jumpin’ Joe Weber” legacy began and he emerged as the greatest 6th man Haverford High School has ever seen. Joe along with his tight crew became proud members of Delco’s most exclusive club, E.M WOLB. Together they found themselves movin’ and groovin’ to The Electrons, Motown, and The Dead. Joe twirled his way into the role as the “Shower Door Prince” while working alongside his father at Efron America.
Joe took his charisma and charm to Comcast selling advertising for his beloved Philadelphia sports teams. Joe fostered his relationships and became the man to get the deal done.
Outside of Joe’s professional career, he took his enduring love for basketball to new heights, becoming a dedicated coach who inspired his players to share the same passion and love for the game. Joe was proud to support women’s sports before it became what it is today.
Joe shared a deep bond with his beloved sisters Ina and Patti. Their laughter and love were constant sources of joy and comfort throughout his life and never missed a daily phone call.
Joe had the brightest smile and the biggest heart. If you were part of Joe’s pack, you were bonded to him for life. He fought the hardest for those he loved, embodying loyalty and unwavering support. In the rare occasion Joe couldn't personally assist you, it's a sure bet he had a guy.
If you asked Joe what his greatest accomplishments were, without hesitation he would proudly say "My beautiful wife Cass, and my two gorgeous and smart children, Jesse and Tess".
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a world made brighter by his presence and his spirit will continue to inspire those who loved him. Joe Weber, a true original, will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
As Joe would say, “Don’t be a putz. And Go Birds!
