
SILVERMAN
JOSEPH MEYER, born Aug. 11, 1911, died Sept. 10, 2003, loving husband of the late Pearl Silverman, beloved father of Sheila (Mel) Goldstein, Helene Feldman and Sherri (Ron) Packer Carlson, adored pop-pop of Rick (Bonnie Katzive) Goldstein, Audrey (Otto) Geoffroy, Sean (Amy) Packer, Amy (Michael) Chmar, Katie Carlson, Anthony Baisch and Cara Carlson; also survived by 7 cherished great grandchildren, devoted brother of Rose Silverman and brother-in-law of Rose D. Silverman, brother of the late Mary Getz, Jeanette Kellerman, Morris Silverman and Irene Kaufman, will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Joe played baseball with Central and Northeast High Schools. During WWII Joe served with the Army in both North Africa and Italy. He was a life-time member of Pannonia Beneficial Association, a member of the American Legion and the Jewish War Veterans. After retiring in 1975 from 45 years in his own roofing contracting business, he worked for Morris Hardware and then Dialogic Fasteners until Dec. 2002.
