54, passed away in Philadelphia on April 11, 2020 following complications from a long illness. Jonathan was born on September 30, 1965 in Boston to Fay (Winston) and Frank Wasserman. He grew up in Newton and then Las Vegas where he graduated from Valley High School in 1983. He then returned to Boston for college, attended Tufts University, graduating cum laude in 1987. Following jobs in education and finance, Jonathan settled on a career in talent acquisition, working for both pharmaceutical and consumer products companies in Philadelphia. Jonathan enjoyed the arts, frequently attending performances on Broadway and at the Metropolitan Opera. He also was a patron of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He loved to travel and the ocean, especially the beaches in Truro where he spent several weeks a year. Every summer he'd tackle a major jigsaw puzzle, typically with thousands of pieces. Jonathan's loyal friends and caregivers were a great source of comfort during his illness. Everyone who met Jonathan was struck by his kindness and generosity. Jonathan is survived by his spouse, Eric Kaplan of Philadelphia, his mother, Fay Drew of Las Vegas and his sister Jennifer Piefer of Henderson, NV.
