John Blevins

John Stewart Blevins of New Hope, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly at the age of 70, surrounded by his family. An avid mountain biker and lover of the outdoors, he spent his last day on the trails at Nockamixon State Park.

Born to William and Evelyn Blevins on a military base in Pensacola Florida, John grew up as part of a U.S. Navy family, spending his childhood in Taiwan and Puerto Rico before returning to the States. He continued to travel throughout his corporate career, conducting business in England, Israel, Germany, and India. At home, he enjoyed reading (especially science fiction), playing guitar and harmonica, and biking and kayaking whenever and wherever he could. In his retirement, John was an engaged member of the community of Solebury Township and his synagogue, Kehilat Hanahar, and an active participant in local politics, volunteering for Democratic causes including the NAACP. Known for both his fierce intelligence and his kind, gentle heart, John was committed to making the world a better place every day.

He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Wendy Blevins; their children, Jillian Sampieri and her husband Peter Sampieri, Joseph Blevins and his husband Michael Curtis, Spencer Blevins, and Dustin Blevins; and his beloved grandsons, Matteo and Luca Sampieri. John also leaves behind his three siblings, David Blevins, Catherine Blevins, and Anita Reichert.
