Joel Shoulson

Joel Shoulson passed away comfortably on Friday June 10, 2022 with family by his side.  As an eighth generation Mohel, Joel served the Jewish community for 60+ years, and as one of the founders of the Philadelphia Folk Festival, he was a fixture of both the Jewish and folk music communities.  Joel is survived by his children, Thea and Fiancé Eric, Michael and wife Stephanie, and grandchildren Merlyn, and Alex and partner Kim.  Services will be held Monday, June 13 at Freehold Jewish Center Cemetery at 3 PM., Business Rt. 33, Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ.  Shiva will be held from 7 PM - 9 PM at Michael's home Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
