Joanne DeLuca (nee DiFrancesco)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joanne DeLuca, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grand-aunt, who departed this life on February 23, 2026, surrounded by her family at the age of 81. Born on January 22, 1945, Joanne was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (nee Perice) DiFrancesco of Pennsauken, New Jersey.
Joanne is survived by her devoted husband, Charles DeLuca, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage, celebrated on November 19, 1967. While holding professional positions at the University of Pennsylvania and TD Bank, her true dedication was to being a stay-at-home mom, raising her son, Charles.
A proud New Jersey native, Joanne cherished time spent with her family and friends. She had a deep affection for the Jersey shore, a near fanatical obsession with Neil Diamond, and enjoyed creating lasting memories with her large extended family. She fostered many lifelong friendships, particularly through her involvement in the Marlton Women’s Club, the Creek Run Lake community, and the Manatee Herd. Known among her friends and family for her remarkable hosting skills, Joanne and Charles made their Christmas Eve tradition, the Feast of the Seven Fishes, a cherished family tradition known to many.
In 2009, Joanne and Charles relocated to Florida, first residing in New Port Richey, before moving to The Villages in 2014. There, she remained connected to her roots as an active member of the New Jersey Club, while also forming new friendships through several book clubs and engaging with friends while playing her favorite games including Bunco, Mahjong, and Mexican Train.
Joanne is survived by her son, Charles DeLuca and his wife, Julie Novak; her sister Patricia McCalla (George); sister-in-law Gayle Peterson (Jerry); sister-in-law Marlene Borda (Joe); along with nieces and nephews: Alicia Caveng, Benjamin Acquesta, Melissa Reynolds, Joe DeLuca, Steven DeLuca, Keith Petri, Kevin Petri, Christopher Peterson, Jennifer Buono, and Elisabeth Spino. Additionally, she is survived by great-nieces and great-nephews Gianna, Eric, Cayla, Nicholas, Emily, Julia, Natalie, Olivia, Charlotte, Bill, Allison, Emily, Isabella, Owen, Grace, Olivia, Max, Landon, Logan, Sophia, Madeline, Jack, and Lucia, alongside many dear cousins and friends too numerous to count. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law Joseph DeLuca and by his wife, Lillian.
Joanne will return to her cherished New Jersey for her final farewell. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc in Marlton, NJ.
