Jeff Bloom, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Sun City Center, Florida, on September 20, 2026.

Jeff was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, raised in Bayonne and spent his summers in Belmar. After graduating from Bayonne High School, Jeff attended Delaware Valley University, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology. He went on to build a long and accomplished career in the dairy and food industries. Over five decades of work, he held positions in dairy production, quality control, food safety, technical services, management, and consulting. His career included positions with Dairylea Cooperative, Agri-Mark, Environmental Systems Service, Häagen-Dazs, Weber Scientific, and JohnsonDiversey. In 2009, he became Executive Vice President of the Dairy Practices Council, an organization he had already served for many years, including as Vice President. Later in life, Jeff returned to Delaware Valley University as an adjunct professor of Food Science, sharing his extensive professional knowledge and experience with students.

Jeff married his beloved wife, Nancy, in 1971. During nearly five decades of marriage, they built a life together that took them from upstate New York to New Hampshire, Virginia, New Jersey, and ultimately Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They experienced the loss of their son, Joel, early in their marriage and later adopted their daughter, Sarah.

Sarah became an enormous part of Jeff and Nancy’s lives and remained at the heart of their family throughout the years. Their family grew again with the birth of their grandson, Tristan, who brought a new dimension to their lives as grandparents. Sarah’s husband, Ron, also became a close part of the family and shared a strong relationship with Jeff as both son-in-law and friend. Together, Sarah, Ron, and Tristan shared countless family occasions, everyday moments, and memories with Jeff and Nancy over the years. That close family bond continued to be an important part of Jeff’s life after Nancy’s passing.

Nancy devoted much of her career to the Council Rock School District while also putting tremendous care into the homes and life she and Jeff shared. Family was always an important part of their lives. They developed many lasting friendships and were especially close with their neighbors. They were also active members of their local synagogue. Jeff and Nancy were very close to both sides of their family, and those relationships remained important to Jeff after Nancy’s death on March 1, 2020.

Jeff eventually made a new home in Kings Point, located in Sun City Center, Florida. His outgoing personality quickly brought new friends into his life. Jeff embraced his new community, becoming involved in many different activities and making many new friends, including his very close friend, Lisa. He especially loved going to the pool every day, where visiting and talking with friends became part of his daily routine.

Jeff also became active in the local synagogue and took to the stage in its theatrical productions. With his sense of humor and outgoing personality, performing came naturally to him, and he was especially proud to have been voted “Most Loved Actor.”

Jeff was a man of many interests and talents. He loved building, repairing, and improving his own homes. He also enjoyed fishing, kayaking, playing the piano, and knew his way around a guitar. Whether working on a house, performing onstage, sitting by the pool, or simply talking with a neighbor, Jeff enjoyed being involved with the people and the world around him.

Those who knew Jeff knew exactly where they stood with him. He was direct and could be wonderfully blunt, but that candor was accompanied by a tremendous sense of humor, an easy smile, and a genuinely friendly and personable nature. He had a gift for talking with people and making connections, and throughout his life neighbors often became close friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy; their son, Joel; his parents, Albert and Gertrude; and his brother, Bobby (Diane).

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah; son-in-law, Ron; grandson, Tristan; brother, Steven (Linda); and sister, Sandy. He is also remembered with love by both his and Nancy’s extended families, his best friend, Bert, and the many friends and neighbors whose lives he touched in all the communities he lived in throughout his life.

Jeff will be laid to rest in Pennsylvania alongside his wife, Nancy.

He will be remembered for his humor, his unmistakable directness, his friendliness, and his smile—and for a life filled with family, friendships, hard work, music, laughter, and an enduring ability to make himself at home wherever life took him.
