A private memorial service will be held in his honor on July 10, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. in the Liberty Commons Catering Room at Ann's Choice, 20000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974.

Obituary

Dr. Jay E. Satz, of Warminster, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 1, 2026, at his residence. He was born in February 1939 in Philadelphia.

Jay put himself through college and earned a Ph.D. in microbiology, and directed the Microbiology Division of the Pennsylvania Department of Health. He then spent more than 30 years leading research and development at NutriSystem, retiring in 2020 at the age of 81.

Jay was a selfless provider who devoted his life to loving and caring for his family, especially his wife, Barbara, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. He was a devoted student of World War II history and a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan. He loved the Phillies and Eagles with a passion and held them to a high standard.

Jay is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Wayne Satz (Bonnie); his daughter, Elaina Satz; his grandchildren, Ryan Gow (Heather), Jeffrey Gow (Jessica), Jonathan DiMuzio (Jenni), Alex DiMuzio (Klaudia), Brandon Satz, and Jordyn Satz; and his great-grandchildren, Mason, Ethan, Love, Lenny, and Cooper Jay.

A private memorial service will be held in his honor on July 10, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. in the Liberty Commons Catering Room at Ann's Choice, 20000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974. Dinner will be served following the service.

The service will also be livestreamed. An email containing the livestream link will be sent to those who are unable to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jay's memory may be made to JCHAI, where he served as Treasurer and Board Member. JCHAI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adults with developmental differences and disabilities to live independently. https://jchai.org/donate/
