James Teller Margolies

Jim was the third child of four to be born to Jean Fleisher Margolies and Bernard Margolies in a busy suburban household. Jim is survived by his siblings Bob, Peggy, and Janet, as well as his former wife, Sue Margolies, and his stepdaughter, Julia (Sadoff) Fein. Jim attended Cheltenham Township schools, from kindergarten at Shoemaker School, through Elkins Park Junior, and then Cheltenham High. Being a child in the Margolies household meant lots of family trips, playmates up and down the street, summer camp, pets (primarily cats but also ducks, hamsters, and guinea pigs), playing Capture the Flag on the “corner lot,” sledding (but NOT standing up when you do so), and hobbies from leather working to stamp collecting, and many more. Jim carried a number of these interests into his adult life, particularly his love of animals, especially cats, and his deep concern for their wellbeing. His adult life included time at Pierce Junior College and work at RCA Camden.

Funeral is private. A memorial service will be held at the Fein residence in the near future.

Donations to any animal welfare organization would be very much appreciated by Jim’s family.
