James Allen, Jr.

JAMES ALLEN JR., born December 24, 1941, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Minnie (Keitt)in Santee, South Carolina. James, affectionately known as “Jimbo” or “Sam” departed this life on Wednesday, August 9^th, 2023, at Albert Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. James was educated in the Orangeburg County Public School System in South Carolina. After graduating from High School, he moved to Philadelphia where he began his Career with Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks Funeral Home until his retirement. James married the love of his life Mrs. Caressa Brunson-Allen on July 14, 2000, who proceeded him in death on December 17, 2020. James also was proceeded in death by his siblings. Sisters Jessie Anderson, Blanche Duncan, Minnie Jefferson, and Bertha Brown and one Brother Eddie Allen. James’ life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: James Allen Jr., Jerome Allen, Durward Allen, Sonya Allen, William Brunson, Nicole Abdul-Mateen (Shahid Abdul-Mateen) Jawuan Brunson; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Clara Prezzy; two sisters- in-law Beverly Allen and Carolyn Brunson, two brothers-in-law; Hazel Jefferson and Darrell Brunson, host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and Special friends Ralph and Joe. Relatives and friends are invited to a Viewing, Friday, 4:30 – 7:00 PM at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks, 6410 N. Broad St., Phila., PA. Graveside Services, Saturday, August 19, 11 AM precisely at Merion Memorial Park, Bala Cynwyd, PA.
