James Adair, 56, passed away suddenly at 6:45am on July 23, 2026 at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

James was a devoted husband and father, survived by his wife, Kimberlee Adair (nee Reiter), and children Brianna Adair, Jonathan Adair, and Rachel Adair. He was also a beloved son of Mary Adair and the late Robert Adair, survived by siblings Nancy Smith (Chris), Robert Adair, and Susan Bertino (Chip).

James was born and raised in a military family. It provided him with an appreciation for travel and an ability to make friends anywhere he went. He loved telling stories about being a wild child in Germany or always finding himself in chaotic situations in Oklahoma. The constant travel provided him the ability to blend in anywhere, often by switching up accents. Scottish accents were by far his favorite.

James was a jack of all trades, leaving his love and experience in everything he did. He spent many years as a DJ for East Coast Event Group, which aided in his vast knowledge of music. He was a force to be reckoned with when it came to guessing songs from the first few notes. As one of his passions, music has always been deeply intertwined in his life. He often called himself an amateur guitarist, but that never stopped him from playing “Home” by Daughtry, or maybe a little Stephen Lynch, when the house felt a little too quiet. He spent many of the following years selling leather moccasins at the renaissance faire. In more recent years, he spent his time helping his daughter start her own business and found immense joy in organizing paperwork. It filled him with tremendous pride to be known as the organization guy. Regardless of what job he worked, he put every ounce of effort into every task he was asked to complete.

James was an avid gamer with an immense love for Final Fantasy. When he wasn’t gaming, he enjoyed planning random building projects or settling in with his family to watch funny videos with a glass of gin in hand. He will forever be remembered for the laughter that filled every room he entered and the smiles he left behind.

There will be no funeral, but a mass will be held on Saturday, August 22 at 11am at Maternity BVM Church in Philadelphia, PA. A celebration of life will be announced at a later time for all those who wish to attend. Contributions in his memory may be made to Tunnels to Towers, http://t2t.org
