JACOB ABRAMS

Jacob Abrams passed away on April 24, 2021. He was the loving husband of Charlotte Abrams (nee Selector), father of Stewart (Jacqueline) Abrams and Jonathan (Kathleen) Abrams. Grandfather of Jordan, Matthew, Andrew, Dylan and Sarah. He is also survived by his big sister Marion Linhard, with whom he was also very close.

Jacob was born on December 14, 1927 in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania and subsequently grew up in Frackville, PA. He served in the United States Army in WWII. Thereafter, he met his wife of 67 years on a blind date in Philadelphia where they settled down and raised their family. A pharmacist by trade, he was known to his family, friends, business colleagues and customers as Jay, Jack, Jake and Maxwell (after his store which bore that name). A tireless worker, Jacob was known for putting inlong hours which included making his own night time delivery of prescriptions to elderly customers so that he could personally answer any questions they had concerning their medications.

Jacob continued to work as a Pharmacist after he sold his store and semi-retired. His retirement also included the formulation of a library at Cedarbrook Hill Apartments in Wyncote, being elected President of the CedarbrookResidents Association, from which the tenants refused to let him resign, and leading a bi-weekly discussion group concerning topics of the day. In his spare time, Jacob was an avid tennis player, photographer and coin collector and enjoyed sharing these hobbies with his grandchildren. And, most of all, Jacob loved his 5 grandchildren.
