Jack Godfrey

Jack Godfrey died peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Saturday, November 9, 2024. Jack was born in Philadelphia on September 27, 1933 to Pauline and Morris Godfrey. He was a graduate of Central High School and Temple University. He was a proud veteran of the Army and had fond memories of his time stationed in Japan as a Chaplain Assistant.

He is survived by his children Scott (Sharon), Robin (Ron), Jami (Jessica) and predeceased by Dean Godfrey (Amanda) (Alex), and grandchildren Jason, Alyssa, Jillian, Mason, Carter, Harrison and Eddison.

All that knew Jack were struck by his charm, humor, and larger than life personality. He loved to dance up until the end of his life and would dance with anyone who would accept his invitation, including the staff at the Horsham Center for Jewish Life. He enjoyed the outdoors, including spending leisurely days at the shore, playing tennis, and jogging. He adored his dog, Kelly. We are grateful to the staff at the Horsham Center for Jewish Life and the residents and friends he made during his almost 5-year stay.

Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside services Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Hwy, Trevose, PA 19053. Friends and family will gather at the home of Robin Godfrey after the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Jewish Committee (donate.ajc.org).
