Jack Leonard Fischman, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on September 18, 2025 after a nearly decade-long battle with atypical meningiomas. Jack was 85 years old. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, the late Ellen Fischman (née Gilde), daughter Lisa and son-in-law Marc, grandchildren Jacob and Noah, sister Sandra, nephew Richard (Carolyn) and niece Susie (Joe).
Born in Washington Heights, New York City, he never lost his love for the state - or his accent. After attending Brooklyn Tech, he moved to Long Beach, NY where he met Ellen. They were married in 1966. Jack worked as a stockbroker, eventually landing with EF Hutton where he worked until he retired through their various name changes. After moving from their apartment in Freeport, Jack and Ellen bought their first house in North Babylon where daughter Lisa was born. They moved a few years later to Old Bethpage, where Jack lived until 7 years ago when he moved to Yardley, PA to be closer to his family. He loved getting to be a greater part of their lives, attending the kids’ marching band competitions and weekly dinners with his machatunim, Dave and Libby Weiss, and honorary family including their daughter Lori Weiss and her daughter Samantha. His greatest joys- other than his family- included volunteering at hospitals, visiting patients and making them laugh, and playing tennis.
Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 1:30PM at GOLDSTEINS’ ROSENBERG’S FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton PA 18966.
