Ivan S. Schwartz, age 86, of East Norriton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 11, 2025. He was the son of Yeta Schwartz (Katz) and David Schwartz.
A native Philadelphian, he graduated from Olney High School in 1956 and served four years in the United States Coast Guard. After his service, Ivan worked his way through college by working during the day and attending classes at night. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Temple University. With a long career in sales, Ivan was active in the Drug Salesman Association of Pennsylvania. Ivan was awarded the Association’s Drug Salesman of Pennsylvania Award. His dedication to the Association was evident when he became President of the Association. Ivan retired as a Sales Account Executive after working for AmerisourceBergen for 20 years before retiring in March of 2011.
Ivan was an avid and dedicated Philadelphia sports fan who loved his Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers. One could often hear him cheering and coaching his teams from his favorite chair in his den. He will be remembered as the life of the party with friends and customers, his kindness and love for all dogs, and for his incredible sweet tooth for TastyKakes and ice cream. More importantly, he was most proud of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Sondra Schwartz (Merklin); children Michael Schwartz (Jodi) and Randi Schwartz Burstein (Evan); and four grandchildren, Samantha Burstein, Alexa Burstein, Dylan Schwartz, and Sabrina Schwartz. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Schwartz.
