Irene Lewis passed away, two months shy of her 90th birthday, suddenly and unexpectedly in her apartment at Paul's Run, Philadelphia, on March 6, 2020. She was born Ida Lamberg, daughter of Harry Lamberg and Sophie Brooks Lamburg. An older sister, Sylvia, pre-deceased her in 1995. While her birth name was Ida, she was known to family and friends and the world at large as Ookie, a name Richard Lewis, who would later become her husband of nearly 40 years, refused to call her. So she renamed herself Irene. She had worked for Weight Watchers for over 50 years and got as excited at the new plans as most people would be when their favorite musical artist dropped new music. She loved bridge, music, reading, and going to the theatre, but most of all, she loved her daughters and their families. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Tom), Judith (Michael) and Donna, called Dee (John) as well as her grandchildren Michael (Christine), Stephanie, Alexander (Faith), Isaac, and Eric and great grandchildren Jaxson and Allison. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15th at 3:00 pm at GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL-SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH CHAPEL, 310 2ND Street Pike, Southampton, PA with Shiva afterwards at Donna's house in Warrington.
